Central nervous system infection is a factor associated with an increase in perioperative mortality. Post-operative neurosurgical infection still highly prevalent and lethal syndrome. Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: All consecutive neurosurgical patients with sepsis and septic shock admitted to the neurosurgical intensive care unit.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: The patients that refused to study. The patients that had pre-existing systemic disease. The patients that were significantly limiting life expectancy. The patients that were transferred to tertiary care hospital. The patients that were intolerance to protocol. The patients that were pulmonary embolism. The patients that were congestive heart failure or acute myocardial infarction.
