Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Negative association between lean mass gain, assessed by Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry, and the insulin resistance index, measured by HOMA-IR method (the homeostatic model assessment), and insulin concentrations, measured by Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA), based on a correlation coefficient lower than -0.50.;Reduction in glucose concentrations assessed by enzymatic colorimetric method, based on the statement of a difference of at least 5% in between groups. ;Reduction in interleukin 6 concentrations assessed by by Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA), based on the statement of a difference of at least 5% after intervention. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Increase in interleukin 10 concentrations assessed by by Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA), based on the statement of a difference of at least 5% after intervention. ;Reduction in adiponectin concentrations assessed by by Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA), based on the statement of a difference of at least 5% after intervention. ;Reduction in leptin concentrations assessed by by Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA), based on the statement of a difference of at least 5% after intervention. | — |
