Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Hepatitis B virus-related acute-on-chronic liver failure (Wu T, et al. Gut. 2018 Dec; 67(12): 2181-2191.): 1. With preexisting chronic HBV infection; 2. With progressive hyperbilirubinemia, defined as a level of total bilirubin >=200 umol/L within 4 weeks; 3. International normalized ratio>=1.5.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients have the following diseases: Other viral infections (including hepatitis A, hepatitis C, hepatitis D and hepatitis E virus, EB virus, cytomegalovirus, herpes simplex virus, human immunodeficiency virus), alcoholic liver disease, hyperthyroidism, autoimmune disease, obstructive jaundice, or chronic heart, brain, lung or kidney disease, diabetes, active tuberculosis, mental illness, etc.; 2. Patients have the following conditions: Anti-tuberculosis treatment or a history of immunosuppressive agents such as hormones within 3 months, pregnancy, history of malignant tumors or suspected malignant tumors, plans to receive non-hepatic organ transplantation or any organ transplant.
