Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Participants with mild cognitive impairment screened using the Thai version of the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) together with the Thai version of the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE). Participants who score less than or equal to 24 on the Thai version of the MoCA or less than or equal to 27 on the Thai version of the MMSE will be considered to have mild cognitive impairment. 2. Abstinence from alcoholic beverages for at least 48 hours before the testing day. 3. Abstinence from caffeinated beverages for at least 12 hours before the testing day. 4. Having a normal and regular sleep pattern, averaging 6 to 9 hours per night during the past month. 5. Being able to understand and comply with the study procedures.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Participants with a history of allergy to L theanine, tea products, or corn products. 2. Participants who consume tea on a daily basis. 3. Pregnant or breastfeeding women. 4. Participants diagnosed by a physician with dementia or with a history of neurological disorders, such as stroke, Alzheimer disease, Parkinson disease with dementia, or other conditions causing cognitive impairment more severe than mild cognitive impairment (MCI). 5. Participants diagnosed with chronic sleep disorders, such as insomnia or sleep apnea. 6. Shift workers who regularly alternate between daytime and nighttime work schedules, or individuals who have experienced jet lag within 2 weeks before the start of the study. 7. Participants who are currently taking or have taken medications that may affect cognitive function or the central nervous system (CNS active drugs) within 4 weeks before the start of the study. 8. Participants who have taken dietary supplements or nutritional products that may affect brain function or memory, such as Ginkgo biloba or ginseng, within 4 weeks before enrollment in the study. 9. Participants with a history of epilepsy. 10. Participants with a history of depression. 11. Participants with a history of chronic alcohol dependence. 12. Participants with visual, auditory, or hand motor impairments that may interfere with their ability to perform the computerized cognitive tasks or respond appropriately to the stimuli. 13. Participants who are unable to understand the study procedures, provide informed consent independently, or comply fully with the study procedures.
