18 Years to 65 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Participants must meet all of the following criteria 1 Age 18 to 65 years 2 Patients with obesity who previously underwent bariatric surgery at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital including sleeve gastrectomy SG sleeve gastrectomy with duodenojejunal bypass SGDJB or Roux en Y gastric bypass RYGB 3 Postoperative duration 24 months plus or minus 6 months at the time of study enrollment

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Participants will be excluded if they meet any of the following criteria 1 History of malignancy within the past 5 years 2 History of substance use disorder or untreated psychiatric illness 3 Use of GLP 1 receptor agonists or SGLT2 inhibitors within 6 months before study enrollment 4 Unstable or symptomatic thyroid disease 5 Diagnosed heart failure or symptomatic heart failure 6 Use of anti obesity medications within 6 months before study enrollment including phentermine phentermine topiramate ER naltrexone SR bupropion SR orlistat topiramate used for weight management or setmelanotide 7 Newly initiated medications or dose adjustments within 6 months before study enrollment that may significantly affect resting metabolic rate or body weight including systemic glucocorticoids prednisone 5 mg per day or more or equivalent for 14 consecutive days or more atypical antipsychotics including olanzapine clozapine quetiapine and risperidone mood stabilizers or anticonvulsants with known effects on body weight such as valproate and lithium antidepressants including tricyclic antidepressants mirtazapine SSRIs and SNRIs beta blockers and thyroid hormone replacement such as levothyroxine

Metabolic adaptation 24 months after bariatric surgery Residual resting metabolic rate calculated as measured resting metabolic rate minus predicted resting metabolic rate.
