18 Years to 45 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. aged 18 to 45 years 2. singleton pregnancy at term (gestational age from 37 weeks) 3. an American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status of II or III 4. cesarean section under spinal anesthesia

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. multiple pregnancies 2. history of gastrointestinal motility disorders (e.g., gastroesophageal reflux disease, pyloric obstruction) 3. pre-existing or gestational diabetes mellitus 4. high-risk pregnancy complications such as preeclampsia or eclampsia.
