Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. aged over 50 years 2. have persistent pain more than 3 on the visual analog scale (VAS) for more than 3 month in one knee 3. have a diagnosis of unilateral KOA by physician or meeting the American College of Rheumatology Classification Criteria for clinical KOA 4. have at least 3 additional criteria (stiffness < 30 min, crepitus sound, bony enlargement, bony tenderness and no palpable warmth) 5. have not undergo any specific treatments 3 months before recruiting the study such as steroid injection
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. any musculoskeletal problems associated with knee joint such as tendon or ligament tear, meniscus injury, fracture, rheumatoid arthritis, knee surgery or back pain
