Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.Male, aged 18 to 60 years, diagnosed with amphetamine-type stimulant addiction. 2.Practicing Buddhist and able to communicate in Thai (this criterion was required due to the Dhamma-based psychosocial component of the program; its implications for generalizability are noted in the limitations). 3.Willingness to participate and complete the 10-day program. 4.Screening score more than 4 on the Ministry of Public Health Screening and Referral Form for Substance Users (Version 2), indicating substance use or dependence. 5.Negative depression screening using the 2-question test (2Q). Participants with positive 2Q results were further assessed with the 9-question test (9Q) those scoring less than 7 were eligible. Participants with 9Q scores more than 7 were administered the 8-question suicide risk assessment (8Q) and only those scoring less than 8 were included.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. History of hepatitis, cirrhosis, nephritis, or acute/chronic renal failure. 2. Severe or uncontrolled medical illness. 3. Active or uncontrolled psychiatric disorders (e.g., psychosis, acute intoxication, or suicidal/homicidal risk). 4. Known hypersensitivity to any herbal components used in the treatment.
