Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1 Age > 18 years or more 2 Newly diagnosed with acute ischemic stroke at hospitals within the network confirm by brain imaging including computer tomography (CT) scan or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) 3 SeLECT score > 4 or more, indicating moderate to very high risk for post-stroke epilepsy 4 Patients and/or their caregivers provide informed consent and are willing to participate in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1 Unstable medical disease included any degree atrioventricular block 2 Intracranial tumors 3 Progressive neurodegenerative disorders 4 Encephalitis or meningitis within 3 years 5 ASM use within 3 months 6 Severe chronic liver disease classified as Child-Pugh class C 7 Severe renal dysfunction (CrCl <30 mL/min) 8 Major psychiatric disorders 9 Severe intellectual disability 10 Pregnant or lactation 11 Known history of epilepsy 12 Status epilepticus
