Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Surface electromyographic (sEMG) activation (%MVIC) of the gluteus medius (GMed) Single laboratory session (during exercise performance) Bipolar surface electrodes (Cometa Wave Plus) per SENIAM. Sampled 2000 Hz, band-pass 10 to 500 Hz, RMS 50 ms window, normalised to MVIC. Middle 6 of 8 repetitions analysed. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| sEMG activation (%MVIC) of the tensor fascia latae (TFL) Single laboratory session Same as Outcome 1. Electrodes placed about 2 cm inferior to ASIS, parallel to muscle fibres.,sEMG activation (%MVIC) of the quadratus lumborum (QL) Single laboratory session Same as Outcome 1. Electrodes placed at midpoint between 12th rib and iliac crest, about 3 cm lateral to vertebral column.,sEMG activation (%MVIC) of the peroneus longus (PL) Single laboratory session Same as Outcome 1. Electrodes placed at one-third of the distance from fibular head to lateral malleolus, parallel to fibula. | — |
