Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients with hypertensive urgency, including both newly diagnosed and previously diagnosed cases, aged over 18 years. 2.Patients who are able to read, listen, speak, and write in Thai, and can communicate effectively in the Thai language, with intact consciousness and orientation, as they are required to understand the explanations provided according to the nursing care guidelines. 3.Patients with systolic blood pressure (SBP) greater than 180 mmHg or diastolic blood pressure (DBP) greater than 110 mmHg, without any signs or symptoms indicative of target organ damage. 4.Willing to participate in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients with hypertensive urgency accompanied by cardiac arrhythmias, as arrhythmias may contribute to the development of hypertension and may require different management approaches. If cardiac arrhythmias are subsequently detected during the study period, the patients will be excluded from the study. 2.Patients with hypertensive urgency presenting with chest pain, a heart rate below 60 beats per minute, or a heart rate above 100 beats per minute, as nursing interventions may interfere with urgent cardiovascular and cardiac care management. 3.Patients with hypertensive urgency who have systolic blood pressure greater than 180 mmHg or diastolic blood pressure greater than 110 mmHg, accompanied by signs and symptoms of life-threatening target organ damage, such as severe headache, dyspnea, epistaxis, severe chest tightness, seizures, loss of consciousness, or cerebrovascular hemorrhage. Nursing interventions may interfere with urgent management according to clinical practice guidelines for hypertensive emergencies. 4.Patients with hypertensive urgency who have respiratory problems, respiratory tract infections, respiratory diseases, or chronic diseases/complications affecting the lungs, such as pulmonary tuberculosis, asthma, emphysema, or lung cancer, as these conditions may contribute to hypertensive urgency, may require different management approaches, and may necessitate referral to the emergency department. If patients are subsequently diagnosed with respiratory tract infections, respiratory diseases, or pulmonary complications during the study period, they will be excluded from the study. 5.Patients with psychiatric disorders who are currently receiving treatment with anxiolytics, hypnotics, or psychotropic medications. 6.Pregnant patients with hypertensive urgency.
