Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. All adult patients meeting the Sepsis-3 criteria for septic shock, 2. Those receiving vasopressor therapy in the emergency department, 3. Those were subsequently admitted to the intensive care unit.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Missing data for vasopressor initiation or ICU admission timing, 2. Cardiac arrest requiring resuscitation before ICU admission, 3. Management via a fast-track ICU pathway, 4. Prior admission to a ward or ICU at the referring hospital.
