Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Eligible participants will be 1. male or female adults aged 20 to 59 years with generally good health and no chronic conditions that may affect energy metabolism or body composition, 2. Participants must have maintained a stable body weight over the past three months (no change exceeding about 10%), 3. Participants must be willing and able to comply with all pre-assessment requirements, including fasting or avoiding food and beverages as instructed, refraining from vigorous physical activity prior to testing, and attending scheduled appointments within the designated time frame.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Participants will be excluded if 1. they have medical conditions affecting resting metabolic rate (RMR) or body composition, such as thyroid disorders, medicated diabetes, hormonal imbalances, severe kidney or liver disease, or symptomatic cardiovascular or pulmonary disease, 2. Individuals using medications or substances that influence metabolism, body weight, or fluid balance within the past three months (thyroid hormones, steroids, weight-loss drugs, or metabolic stimulants) will also be excluded, 3. Additional exclusion criteria include acute illness or infection within 1 to 2 weeks prior to testing, pregnancy, suspected pregnancy, or breastfeeding, 4. Participants with implanted metal devices that may interfere with body composition assessment (e.g., pacemaker or ICD), inability to remain supine for the required duration, or inability to comply with pre-test requirements (fasting, avoiding alcohol, vigorous exercise, nicotine, or caffeine as instructed) will also be excluded.
