Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Participants were eligible for inclusion if they met all of the following criteria: 1. Adults aged 18 years or older who had recovered from mild to moderate COVID-19 infection. 2. Body mass index in the normal range between 18.5 and 24.9 kilograms per square meter. 3. Free from known chronic diseases. 4. Not currently engaged in regular structured exercise, defined as more than 3 days per week, more than 150 minutes per week of moderate intensity exercise, or more than 75 minutes per week of vigorous intensity exercise. 5. Absence of oral inflammatory conditions such as gingivitis or other dental problems. 6. No recent musculoskeletal injury or conditions requiring medical treatment.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Participants were excluded if they met one or more of the following conditions: 1. Musculoskeletal limitations or injuries requiring medical attention. 2. Presence of systemic disease. 3. Oral inflammatory conditions (e.g., gingivitis) or other dental problems. 4. Current smoking and/or regular alcohol consumption. 5. Use of medications known to affect cardiovascular or autonomic function. 6. Use of antioxidant supplements. 7. Balance impairments or plantar sensory deficits that could increase the risk of injury during participation.
