Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patient Inclusion Criteria: 1. Aged 65 years or above, undergoing elective surgery with a hospital stay of at least 2 days, and with a close caregiver present throughout the study period (from admission to 48 hours post-surgery). 2. Able to understand, read, write, and communicate in Thai. 3. No severe visual or hearing impairments that would hinder assessment. Caregiver Inclusion Criteria: 1. Aged 18 years or above. 2. Resides with the patient or has regular contact with the patient (at least 5 days per week) and provides continuous care, not just occasional visits. 3. Familiar with the patient's behavior, personality, and habits, having been the primary caregiver for at least 1 year. 4. Able to understand, read, write, and communicate in Thai.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Exclusion Criteria for Patients: 1. Patients who do not consent to participate in the study. 2. Patients with significantly reduced consciousness, drowsiness, or unresponsive to verbal stimuli (Richmond Agitation Sedation Scale -4 or -5), preventing delirium assessment. 3. Critically ill patients requiring intubation, who cannot communicate with the assessor. Exclusion Criteria for Caregivers 1. Caregivers who do not consent to participate in the study. 2. Caregivers who do not have a close relationship with the patient (e.g., hired caretakers). 3. Caregivers who do not provide continuous care or visit regularly during the patients hospitalization.
