Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Newborn infants with gestational age < 32 weeks OR birth weight < 1,500 g. 2. Infants requiring respiratory support (either invasive mechanical ventilation or NIV such as nCPAP/NIPPV). 3. Parents or legal guardians provide written informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Major chromosomal abnormalities (Trisomy 13, 18, or 21) or other life-threatening genetic conditions. 2. Congenital anomalies affecting lung function (e.g., congenital diaphragmatic hernia, congenital pulmonary airway malformation). 3. Significant congenital heart disease, excluding patent ductus arteriosus and simple atrial or ventricular septal defects.
