Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. All adult patients (aged greater than or equal 18 years) admitted to the ICU with a primary diagnosis of sepsis, according to the Third International Consensus Definitions for Sepsis and Septic Shock. 2. possessed complete electronic medical records containing all necessary clinical and laboratory data upon ICU admission.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. advanced chronic liver disease Child Pugh Class C. 2. severe chronic kidney disease stage 4 or stage 5. 3. primary or acquired immunosuppressive disorders. 4. uncontrolled diabetes mellitus. or 5. incomplete medical or laboratory records

28-day all-cause mortality 28 days following ICU admission All-cause mortality, determined by assessing the patient's vital status (survivor or non-survivor) via electronic medical records at 28 days following ICU admission.
