Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. All adult patients (aged greater than or equal 18 years) admitted to the ICU with a primary diagnosis of sepsis, according to the Third International Consensus Definitions for Sepsis and Septic Shock. 2. possessed complete electronic medical records containing all necessary clinical and laboratory data upon ICU admission.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. advanced chronic liver disease Child Pugh Class C. 2. severe chronic kidney disease stage 4 or stage 5. 3. primary or acquired immunosuppressive disorders. 4. uncontrolled diabetes mellitus. or 5. incomplete medical or laboratory records
