Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Type 2 Diabetes 2. Age over 18 years 3. Able to provide informed consent independently

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Pregnancy and lactation 2. HIV infection 3. ESRD receiving RRT 4. Hospitalized within the past 3 mo. 5. Any stage cancer except basal cell carcinoma 6. History of using medications that affect muscle mass, including corticosteroids, anabolic steroids 7. Any myopathy, severe knee or hip osteoarthritis, or any other condition that prevents independent ambulation.
