Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Adult patients aged 20 years or older undergoing surgery at Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital 2. Scheduled for elective cardiac surgery requiring cardiopulmonary bypass 3. Provided informed consent for study participation

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patient refusal 2. Emergency cardiac surgery 3. Preexisting hemostasis disorder defined as platelet count less than 100000 cells per mm3 INR greater than 1.5 or fibrinogen less than 150 mg per dL 4. Severe hepatic dysfunction defined as AST or ALT greater than 3 times normal 5. Chronic kidney disease stage 4 or 5 or end stage renal disease 6. Hematologic disorders 7. Use of antiplatelet or anticoagulant therapy without adequate discontinuation except low dose aspirin
