18 Years to 40 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age range 18-40 years 2. All genders were included. 3. Overhead athletes from various sports, including softball, water polo, baseball, volleyball, tennis, handball, swimming, badminton, basketball, squash, racquetball, gymnastics, wheelchair basketball, lacrosse, football (Quarterback only), soccer (Goalkeeper only), and golf 4. Participants must engage in overhead sports activities for at least 5 hours per week regularly 5. Diagnosis of myofascial pain syndrome (MPS) with pain persisting for the past 3 months, confirmed by a physiotherapist or doctor Criteria for MTrPs on side with symptoms or dominant side (1) Taut band on the upper trapezius muscles (2) Palpable tender spots on the upper trapezius muscles (3) Pressure pain threshold (PPT) more than 2.9 kg/sq. cm. for males and more than 2.0 kg/sq cm. for females diagnosed by dolorimeter

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. History of completing the physical activity readiness questionnaire or undergoing surgery within the last 6 months 2. Rehabilitation on upper back muscles the last 3 months 3. Use of muscle relaxer supplements within the last 6 weeks 4. Use of analgesic medication within the last 6 weeks 5. Presence of infectious skin disease 6. Cervicothoracic spinal pathology 7. Open wounds in the upper back area 8. Metal devices or electronic devices in the body
