The intervention is an interactive storybook reading program conducted by caregivers for hospitalized children aged 3-8 years. Caregivers receive a face to face training session (15-20 minutes) from t
s hospital admission. The training includes an explanation of the study objectives, instructions on the interactive storybook reading technique, and a demonstration using a sample storybook. Caregiver

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients Children 1. Children aged 3-8 years admitted to the inpatient ward Department of Pediatrics Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital between 1 February 2026 and 31 January 2027. 2. Children whose primary language is Thai and who are able to hear, see and understand basic instructions. Caregivers 1. Caregivers aged 20 years or older. 2. Caregivers who have access to an internet connected device such as smartphone or tablet and have basic digital literacy. 3. Caregivers with sufficient Thai language proficiency to complete consent forms answer questionnaires and read stories with the child. 4. Caregiverswho cares for the child at least 5 days per week and can participate in the study activities with the child for 8 weeks.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Children with uncorrected hearing or visual impairment. 2. Children with acute unstable medical conditions such as loss of consciousness active bleeding respiratory distress or unstable circulation requiring urgent treatment. 3. Children who are unable to identify basic emotions by pointing to pictures according to the assessment tool used in the study.
