Interventions

Participants underwent pterygium excision followed by amniotic membrane transplantation. The amniotic membrane was secured to the scleral bed using fibrin glue according to standard surgical technique

28 Years to 80 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Patients diagnosed with primary pterygium. 2. Patients indicated for pterygium surgery with amniotic membrane transplantation. 3. Patients able and willing to provide informed consent and comply with the study protocol.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Recurrent or double-head pterygium. 2. Ocular conditions that may affect surgical outcomes, including dry eye disease, glaucoma, pseudopterygium, ocular trauma, active ocular infection, or bleeding disorders. 3. Inability to comply with the follow-up schedule.

Pterygium recurrence At 6 months after surgery Slit-lamp examination to assess pterygium recurrence, defined as fibrovascular tissue regrowth extending beyond the limbus onto the clear cornea
