Sixth year medical students will measure left ventricular ejection fraction using the E point septal separation method before and after a structured training program consisting of didactic instruction

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Sixth year medical students 2. Adult male standardized patients aged 18 years or older with functional class I or II

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Sixth year medical students who are unavailable during the workshop period 2. Standardized patients with poor cardiac ultrasound window 3. Standardized patients with significant intrinsic mitral valve disease 4. Standardized patients with moderate or severe aortic insufficiency 5. Standardized patients with severe mitral regurgitation 6. Standardized patients with severe left ventricular hypertrophy 7. Standardized patients with asymmetric septal hypertrophy 8. Standardized patients with discrete upper septal thickening 9. Standardized patients with significant anterior septal curvature
