Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. aged at least 60 years old 2. closed femoral neck or intertrochanteric fracture resulting from low-energy trauma 3. presenting within 72 hours of hospital admission 4. able to ambulate prior to injury (with or without walking aid) 5. sufficient cognitive capacity to participate in postoperative rehabilitation
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. incomplete medical records regarding surgical or mobilization data 2. absence of a Thai national identification, which precluded mortality ascertainment via the National Civil Registry 3. a prior history of hip fracture 4. concurrent fractures at other anatomical sites, including bilateral hip fractures
