Interventions

Participants in the intervention group will perform a structured hand-foot exercise program for 15 minutes daily during chemotherapy. The exercise program includes stretching and strengthening exercis

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age 18 years or older. 2. Diagnosed with ovarian, endometrial, cervical, peritoneal, or vaginal cancer. 3. Initiating a paclitaxel containing chemotherapy regimen administered every 3 weeks for at least 3 cycles. 4. No pre existing peripheral neuropathy (CTCAE neuropathy grade 0). 5. ECOG performance status 0 to 1. 6. Able to ambulate independently and perform hand grasping. 7. Willing to participate in the study and able to provide written informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Peripheral neuropathy from other causes including poorly controlled diabetes mellitus (HbA1c greater than or equal to 7 percent) or diabetic neuropathy, carpal tunnel syndrome, or radiculopathy. 2. History of cerebrovascular disease (stroke). 3. Previous exposure to neurotoxic chemotherapy agents including taxanes, platinum compounds, vinca alkaloids, thalidomide, bortezomib, or epothilones. 4. Prior use of medications known to cause neuropathy including amiodarone, statins, or anti mycobacterial agents.
