Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.Patient aged 18-80 years with osteoarthritis of the knee who was willing to undergo Total knee arthroplasty and return for normally scheduled follow-up visits 2. Serum 25(OH)D concentration < 30 ng/ml
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) score >= 4 2. CKD with eGFR < 60 ml/min/1.73m2 or creatinine level > 1.3 mg/dL 3. Granulomatous condition e.g. sarcoidosis, active TB 4. Current cancer 5. Metastatic bone disease or metastatic calcification 6. Severe liver disease or jaundice 7. Active or history of renal stones 8. Malabsorption disorder 9. Pregnant 10. Participants undergoing revision surgery or bilateral total knee replacement 11. Inability to take medication orally 12. Defined as albumin-corrected hypercalcemia > 12 mg/dL 13. Primary hyperparathyroidism
