Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion Criteria: Participants must be aged 60 years or older with no gender restriction. They must have a Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index score of 6 or higher and be diagnosed by an applied Thai traditional medicine practitioner as having knee pain with a Visual Analog Scale score greater than or equal to 4 indicating moderate pain or above. They must reside in Mae Sai Subdistrict Mueang District Phayao Province for at least 10 years and be willing to participate in the research project and provide written informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion Criteria: Participants will be excluded if they have severe underlying diseases that prevent participation in the health care program such as advanced heart disease or terminal cancer. They will also be excluded if they have cognitive impairment that makes communication or following instructions impossible, are currently undergoing other treatments for insomnia or knee pain, have allergy to herbs used in the compress herbal poultice or herbal steam therapy, or have taken any anti-inflammatory drugs or muscle relaxants within two weeks prior to the study.
