Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Haglund syndrome patients aged over 18 years with who have failed nonoperative treatments, such as Achilles tendon stretching exercises, soft tissue massage at the painful area, and appropriate footwear modification for more than 3 months

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with a history of previous Achilles tendon injury or rupture. 2. Patients unable to comply with postoperative rehabilitation protocols. 3. Patients with skin or soft tissue infection around the foot or ankle within the past 3 months. 4. Patients with concomitant foot or ankle deformities. 5. Patients with incomplete medical records or radiographic data within 3 months prior to surgery. 6. Patients presenting with unilateral or bilateral lower limb weakness from any cause. 7. Patients undergoing revision surgery for posterior calcaneal exostosis (heel spur).
