19 Years to 35 Years
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. age 19-35 years, 2. planned, full-term, first, singleton pregnancy, 3. planned cesarean section, 4. receive spinal anesthesia, 5. no lactation upon admission to the postpartum unit, assessed by placing the thumb and index finger on the areola, pressing toward the mother, and expressing milk, 6. normal nipple appearance, assessed by grasping the nipple with the thumb and index finger, 7. no postpartum conditions or complications that could affect milk production and secretion, such as hypothyroidism, polycystic ovarian syndrome, hypertension, hemorrhage, or diabetes, 8. no history of divorce or loss of family members within 3 months prior to delivery, 9. healthy newborn, with an APGAR score of 8 or higher at 1 minute and 5 minutes, normal birth weight (2,500-4,000 grams), and no contraindications of breastfeeding, 10 able to communicate in Thai, and 11. willing to participate in the study
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. the mother and the infant are separated on the first day of birth, such as due to infant complications and admission to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and 2. APGAR scores of lower than 7 at 1 minute or lower than 10 at 5 minutes
