Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. People who experienced their first stroke at least 6 months prior are included, 2. Brunnstrom recovery stages for the upper extremity, specifically stages 4 to 5, allow individuals to exercise with one affected arm according to the program, 3. Able to sit and stand with good stability, both static and dynamic balance, 4. Upper limb pain, measured by visual analog scales, does not exceed a value of 3 out of a full score of 10, 5. Blood pressure is in the normal range; diastolic blood pressure is between 70 and 90 mmHg, and systolic blood pressure is between 110 and 140 mmHg. Pulse rate is between 60 and 100 beats per minute. All these were measured within 7 days before starting a home exercise program, 6. There are no contraindications to exercise, such as frequent chest pain, irregular heartbeat, heart disease, and epilepsy, 7. There are no cognition or memory problems that may be an obstacle to the activity, which is tested by asking 3 short-term memory questions and 3 long-term memory questions, 8. Able to understand and communicate with others, tested by giving 3 steps of instructions, 9. There is a risk of depression symptoms, measured by the 2-item depression assessment form, Thai version. Individuals who answer yes to one or both questions would be classified as at risk of depression, 10. Being a regular service recipient of a community rehabilitation center, receiving services up to 2 times per week, and having not received a home upper limb exercise program from any institution, 11. The individual must be willing to participate in the research project.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Do exercises at home on the upper limbs for less than 80% of the total time and number of times, 2. Receive additional exercise or rehabilitation programs from other sources during the period of this research project, 3. There are other complications during the period of participation in this research project that prevent further exercise, including recurrent stroke, fracture, arthritis, high blood pressure, and abnormal heart rate, 4. The subjects in the control group who do exercise at home by themselves similar to the experimental group in terms of intensity, duration, and frequency.
