Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. patients aged equal or more than 18 years 2. admitted to the MICU 3. intubated with end-tidal CO2 (EtCO2) monitoring 3. equipped with an arterial line for CO monitoring, and with available global EELi measurements using an EIT device. 4. Informed consent was obtained from each patient or their legal surrogate.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. contraindications to the PLR test (e.g., limb amputation, deep vein thrombosis, or elevated intra-abdominal pressure) 2. a history of pulmonary embolism 3. morbid obesity (BMI > 35) 4. and active pregnancy.
