Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients aged over 18 years undergoing open abdominal surgery for surgical conditions at Thammasat Hospital.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients unable to measure handgrip strength preoperatively. 2.Patients unable to perform spirometry testing preoperatively. 3.Patients who do not consent to participate in the study. 4.Patients with pre-existing respiratory system diseases or abnormalities before surgery. 5.Patients with diaphragmatic injuries or pathological conditions. 6.Patients with thoracic injuries, pathological conditions, or a history of thoracic surgery. 7.Patients with generalized peritonitis (inflammation of the peritoneum throughout the abdomen). 8.Patients with persistent hemodynamic instability.

mortality post-operation to until dead in hospital(in same admition) or discharge dead,postoperative complications(surgical site infection, anastomotic leakage, anastomotic stricture, intra-abdominal bleeding, intra-abdominal infection, gastroparesis / ileus) post-operation to until dischange clincail diagnosis and CT scan
