Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Age greater than 18 years. 2. Diagnosed with myofascial pain syndrome in the upper trapezius muscle and treated with dry needling by a rehabilitation medicine specialist with standardized control of number of needles, needle size, and number of insertions. 3. Post-needling soreness intensity score on numeric rating scale (NRS) at least 3 4. Receiving dry needling treatment for the first time. 5. Never received treatment for post-needling soreness using hot or cold packs before. 6. No prior treatment for myofascial pain syndrome within 2 weeks before study enrollment (e.g., local anesthetic injection, ultrasound therapy). 7. Consents to participate in the research by signing the consent form
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Contraindications and precautions to hot pack and cold pack therapy e.g. Impaired sensation, Local infection, Open wounds, Cold hypersensitivity, Cryoglobulinemia, Raynaud disease, Peripheral vascular disease 2. Inability to communicate
