This group includes all eligible patients who require urinary catheterization during their hospital stay and are enrolled in the study as per the inclusion criteria.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. All consenting patients aged 18 to 80 years. 2.Patients undergoing emergency surgery 3.Patients who require urinary catheterization during their hospital stay between April 2024 and August 2025. 4.Patients who provide written informed consent for participation in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Patients with existing urinary tract infections (UTIs) before catheterization. 2.Patients admitted with positive urine cultures before catheterization. 3.Hospitalization primarily related to urinary system diseases. 4.Patients with a positive urinary dipstick test indicative of infection before catheterization.
