Conditions

Healthy participants Ulva rigida, postprandial dysmetabolism, seaweed, appetite, carbohydrate digestion

Interventions

A high-carbohydrate, moderate-fat meal. The caloric distribution was approximately 60% carbohydrate, 30% fat and 10% protein.,A high-carbohydrate, moderate-fat meal plus 5 g dry weight of U. rigida.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Male and female aged 20-50 years old 2. BMI 18.5-23 kg/m2 3. Fasting blood glucose less than 100 mg/dL 4. Fasting blood triglyceride less than 150 mg/dL 5. Blood urea nitrogen (BUN) 8-24 mg/dL 6. Creatinine 0.84 - 1.21 mg/dL 7. Aspartate transaminase (AST) 8 - 48 U/L 8. Alanine transaminase (ALT) 7 - 55 U/L 9. Blood pressure less than 120/80 mmHg 10. No smoker and alcohol users

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Chronic diseases such as diabetes mellitus, hypercholesterolemia, liver and kidney diseases etc. 2. Using any dietary supplements or medications related to dietary fibers and antioxidants 3. Breastfeeding, pregnant or planning a pregnancy
