Conditions

Interventions

Participants will receive a progressive step marching exercise (PSME) program, which involves marching in place. The total training time will be 35 to 45 minutes per session, three times per week, for

Age
60 Years to 69 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Aged between 60 and 69 years. 2. Body Mass Index (BMI) between 18.5 and 22.9 kg/m2. 3. Older adults with a low level of physical activity, assessed using the Thai version of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire Short Form. 4. In good health and free from any diseases or symptoms that may contraindicate exercise participation, assessed by the Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire. 5. Willing to participate in the study and able to provide written informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Presence of chronic diseases such as Severe musculoskeletal conditions (osteoarthritis, osteoporosis with fragility fracture) Severe pulmonary renal or cardiovascular diseases or diabetes requiring insulin therapy Serious neurological diseases or disorders (Parkinson's disease) stroke or cerebral hemorrhage with complications Uncontrolled hypertension (blood pressure equal to or higher than 140/90 mmHg) 2. At risk of falls that may pose a danger during exercise, as indicated by a Timed Up and Go test result greater than 12 seconds. 3. At risk of falls that may pose a danger during exercise, as indicated by a single leg stance time of less than 5 seconds. 4. Cognitive impairment as assessed by the Thai version of the Montreal Cognitive Assessment with a score of less than 25. 5. Untreated or uncorrectable hearing problems even with the use of hearing aids. 6. Untreated or uncorrectable visual impairments even with the use of eyeglasses.
