Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Volunteers must be male or female, aged 60 years or older. 2. Must be literate and mentally sound (able to read and write, and have full consciousness and awareness). 3. Must be diagnosed with Dan Lom syndrome (U6686) by a Thai Traditional Medicine doctor or an Applied Thai Traditional Medicine practitioner through history taking and physical examination: 3.1 Has a history of continuous constipation for at least 3 months according to the Rome IV criteria for chronic constipation, with symptoms such as passing hard stools resembling goat pellets, loss of appetite, and insomnia. 3.2 Palpable abdominal masses found in any region, often above the navel. In mild cases, stools are movable; in severe cases, they are hard and compact. 3.3 Abdominal percussion used to detect the presence of excess abdominal gas. 4. Willing to participate voluntarily in the study. 5. Able to follow the research procedures and attend treatment appointments independently. 6. No other physical diseases that could be the primary cause of constipation, such as intestinal obstruction, neurological disorders, or colon cancer. 7. Not currently taking medications known to cause constipation, such as antidepressants or opioid analgesics
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with hemiplegia or paresis 2. Individuals with contagious skin diseases such as chickenpox, shingles, etc. 3. Volunteers who cannot communicate effectively or are unable to follow instructions 4. Individuals with a fever over 37.5 or menstruating on the day of treatment 5. Individuals with uncontrolled hypertension (blood pressure exceeding 170/90 mmHg) 6. Those with thrombophlebitis (inflammation and clotting in veins) 7. Those taking anticoagulant medications, such as Aspirin, Clopidogrel, Prasugrel, or Ticlopidine 8. Individuals with a known allergy to Phlai (Zingiber cassumunar) herbal remedies
