Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Fluid restriction or nil per os (NPO) 2. Admitted to intensive care unit (ICU) or step-down unit for at least 24 hours 3. Thirst intensity score equal to or greater than 3 4. Able to read, write, and understand Thai language 5. Modified Water Swallowing Test score greater than 3 6. Able to give informed consent independently 7. Able to suck on ice cubes
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Allergy to any component of roselle 2. Presence of oral mucosal lesions 3. Receiving treatment with Hydrochlorothiazide due to severe interaction causing increased blood drug levels 4. Presence of delirium 5. Intubated patients 6. Patients with neurological and neuromuscular diseases including stroke with swallowing problems myasthenia gravis and Parkinsons disease 7. Patients with head and neck cancer 8. Patients previously diagnosed with dysphagia 9. Hemodynamically unstable patients
