Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Body temperature >37.8 C measured by infrared thermometer 2. White blood cell count >11,000 cells/mm3

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. National early warning score (NEWS score) >5 2. Blood lactate >2.0 mmol/L 3. Hemodynamic instability 4. Known allergy to any of the antibiotic regimens under investigation 5. Identifiable source of infection in the emergency department
