Conditions

Postoperative pain after breast surgery. Factors contributing to pain severity include younger age, high body mass index (BMI), preexisting pain, depressive mood, bilateral breast surgery, and preoperative chemotherapy. However, anesthesia-related factors remain underexplored. Inadequate pain control in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) can lead to discomfort, complications, and disrupt PACU workflow.
