Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: The inclusion criteria were as follows: 1) Thai women with a BMI more than or equal to 23 kg/m2; 2) waist circumference more than or equal to 80 cm; 3) age between 30 to 59 years; 4) total cholesterol level more than 200 mg/dL or LDL-C level more than 130 mg/dL; and 5) capable of taking food photos and use the LINE application to send information. All participants were requested to provide blood samples for the analysis of lipid profiles and the results had to pass the specific criteria.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) a history of metabolic syndrome, hepatic, renal, autoimmune, gastrointestinal, or neurological diseases; 2) current or recently consumed food supplements, over-the-counter (OTC) products, and/or pharmaceutical agents that might influence the outcome of this study (e.g., Orlistat); 3) current or recent history of eating disorders, bipolar disorder, or severe depression; 4) pregnancy or lactation; 5) allergies or intolerance to crustaceans and/or seafood products; 6) vegetarian dietary preferences; 7) current COVID-19 patients; 8) recovery from COVID-19 within the past 3 months; and 9) individuals judged to be unlikely to comply with the study treatment and follow-up procedures.
