Postmenopausal women and men aged 50 years or older with advanced-stage knee osteoarthritis who were scheduled for elective TKA or unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA).

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Postmenopausal women and men aged 50 years or older 2. Advanced-stage knee osteoarthritis 3. Scheduled for elective TKA or unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Revision knee arthroplasty, 2. Patients who were unable to comprehend or respond to questionnaires 3. Patients who can't perform or can not understand physical performance assessments using five time chair stand test 4. patients who were unwilling to participate
