Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1 Postmenopausal women (at least one year since last normal menstruation without hysterectomy or oophorectomy). 2 The diagnosis of OSA was confirmed using baseline and split-night level 1 polysomnography. 3 Participants must have been completed Thai version of the Epworth Sleepiness Scale questionnaire as part of their diagnostic evaluation prior to the initiation of any therapeutic intervention.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1 The diagnosis indicates central sleep apnea. 2 Have physical or mental health conditions that may affect daytime sleepiness or nighttime sleep including dementia, hypothyroidism, narcolepsy, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), arthritis, liver cirrhosis and depression. 3 Have had insufficient sleep of less than 6 hours per night. 4 Have a history of using hypnotics or antidepressants. 5 Work in different time intervals.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) as measured by the Epworth Sleepiness Scale in postmenopausal women with obstructive sleep apnea same time point as the test 10 Polysomnographic parameters; Arousal index, Sleep efficiency, RDI, Supine RDI, Non-supine RDI, REM RDI, Non-REM RDI, Mean oxygen sat, Minimum oxygen sat, Time below 90% oxygen saturation

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Significant predictors of excessive daytime sleepiness in postmenopausal women with obstructive sleep apnea same time point as the test 10 Polysomnographic parameters; Arousal index, Sleep efficiency, RDI, Supine RDI, Non-supine RDI, REM RDI, Non-REM RDI, Mean oxygen sat, Minimum oxygen sat, Time below 90% oxygen saturation
