Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Male or female participants aged 30 to 50 years 2. Diagnosed with myofascial pain syndrome, and presenting with at least one active myofascial trigger point (MTrP) in the upper trapezius muscle 3. Chronic pain lasting more than 6 months 4. Pain intensity of 7 cm or higher on the Visual Analog Scale (VAS)
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Diagnosed with other musculoskeletal disorders in the neck and shoulder region, such as disc inflammation, herniation, degeneration, or nerve inflammation 2. Presence of conditions related to impaired circulation (e.g., uncontrolled diabetes, cardiovascular disease, or hypertension) 3. History of surgery in the neck or shoulder region 4. Currently taking anticoagulant medications (e.g., warfarin, enoxaparin, heparin) 5. Diagnosis of osteoporosis 6. Pregnant or suspected pregnancy 7. Subcutaneous fat thickness at the shoulder area >10 mm, as measured by ultrasound B-mode 8. Known allergy to lidocaine or related agents 9. Currently taking analgesics (e.g., NSAIDs), considering the pharmacological activity window of each drug
