No antibiotic prophylaxis in this group,Patient will receive antibiotic for prophylaxis (standard of care) for at least 3 days to maximum of 5 days (Ceftriaxone 2 g intravenous every 24 hours or Cipro

Inclusion criteria: At least 20 years of age Cirrhosis Child-Turcotte-Pugh A Upper gastrointestinal bleeding

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Hepatocellular carcinoma Advanced stage malignancy Septic shock Failure to stop bleeding by endoscopic therapy Diagnosis with infection Deny to participate
