Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: This study aims to investigate the association of TMAO with the incidence of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in at-risk groups, and to use TMAO levels to predict severe disease outcomes and mortality in patient groups. For data collection, participants will be divided into two subgroups: 1. At-risk group for cardiovascular disease: 1.1 Individuals seeking examination or treatment at Srinagarind Hospital or Queen Sirikit Heart Center, Khon Kaen University, 1.2 Both male and female. 1.3 Aged 18 years and older. 1.4 Who have a Thai CV risk score >1. 1.5 They must have no active infection. 1.6 No history of antibiotic use for at least the past 2 weeks. 1.7 Have fasted for at least 8 hours before the measurement day. 2. Cardiovascular disease (CVD) patient group: 2.1 Patients seeking examination or treatment at Srinagarind Hospital or Queen Sirikit Heart Center, Khon Kaen University. 2.2 Both male and female. 2.3 Aged 18 years and older. 2.4 have fasted for at least 8 hours before the measurement day. These are individuals diagnosed with coronary heart disease (CHD) within the past 10 years by a cardiovascular specialist. The diagnosis must be confirmed by physical examination and special investigations, including coronary angiography, verifying CHD according to established diagnostic criteria. Eligibility for this group covers the period from the initial CHD diagnosis by a physician until the completion of treatment (or includes those who have previously undergone coronary revascularization).

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Use of antibiotics within 7 days prior to enrollment/treatment. 2. Diagnosis of cancer. 3. Presence of other acute or chronic inflammatory diseases affecting organs other than the cardiovascular system. 4. Presence of other life-threatening emergency conditions. 5. Refusal to participate in the study.
