Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patient age 1 month -15 years old who were intubated and had passed standard institutional weaning protocol and were ready for extubation .

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Preexisting laryngeal or tracheal pathology, Patients with contraindication of US probe application at neck area

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
post extubation stridor post extubation 48 hour physical examination of stridor with Westley croup score more than 2 points,post extubation stridor before extubation subglottic airway diameter

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
airway leak test during spontaneous ventilation support before extubation decrease of expiratory tidal volume more than 20% of inspiratory volume during spontaneous ventilation support
