Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Diagnosis of diabetes mellitus 2. Age more than 30 years old 3. History of treatment with metformin (during treatment or ever taking)
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. The patient who discontinue metformin or decrease the dosage for reasons other than gastrointestinal side effects or contraindications to metformin use such as lactic acidosis, B12 deficiency, renal function, etc. 2. Pregnancy 3. Advanced cancer 4. The patient who diagnosed as irritable bowel syndrome 5. Cirrhosis with Child-Pugh classification B and C 6. The patient declined to participate in the study 7. The patient who diagnosed as AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome)
