Eligibility

Age
60 Years to 100 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Age 60 years or older with good cognitive function and communication ability 2. Unstable intertrochanteric fracture with LT displacement classified as AO/OTA 31A2.2, 31A2.3, or 31A3.3, and those with LT displacement between 5 and 10 mm after closed reduction 3. Sufficient fragment size for cerclage wire application 4. Available for at least 12 months of follow-up.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Previous ipsilateral hip or femoral surgery 2. Non-osteoporotic pathological fractures 3. Multiple fractures 4. Pre-existing bedridden status or walking disability 5. Severe perioperative risk classified as American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) score IV or V, 6. Refusal to participate.
