Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Age of 65 years or more 2. Predicted to be admitted postoperatively to the surgical ICU
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Cardiothoracic surgery and neurosurgery 2. Contraindications to sevoflurane or desflurane 3. Preferable indication to sevoflurane or desflurane 4. Contraindications for the following medications; fentanyl, propofol, succinylcholine, cisatracurium, dexamethasone and ondansetron. 5. Preexisting neurological or psychiatric conditions 6. Patients with limitations of Thai CAM-ICU evaluation
